Georgia Voll, Australia's opener, made an unbeaten 131 as Australia beat Bangladesh by nine wickets in a day-night second ODI at Allan Border Field in Brisbane, Queensland, on Sunday, clinching the series 2-0.
Sobhana Mostary made 118 for Bangladesh, becoming the first Bangladesh woman to score an international century against Australia.
Mostary's innings is also the highest individual score by a Bangladesh woman in one-day international cricket, passing the previous record of 107 by Fargana Hoque against India in 2022. Mostary's century came off 134 balls, just under a run a ball.
Mostary and Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana added 195 for the fourth wicket after Bangladesh had been reduced to 8 for 3 early in their innings. The stand is the highest partnership against Australia by any team in the history of women's ODI cricket, and accounted for 195 of Bangladesh's 220 runs.
Sultana finished unbeaten on 74 as Bangladesh, batting first, reached 220 for 6 from their 50 overs at Allan Border Field.
Chasing 221 for victory under lights, Australia reached 222 for 1 in 28.1 overs, winning with 131 balls remaining. Voll and Phoebe Litchfield, Australia's other opener, put on 162 for the first wicket.
Litchfield was out for 70 off 51 balls. Ellyse Perry finished unbeaten on 19 as Voll guided the Australian innings home from there.
Voll's 131 came off 97 balls, at better than a run a ball, and was her third ODI century. It made her the first woman to score two ODI centuries at Allan Border Field, having also made 101 there against India in December 2024.
The win handed Australia an unassailable lead, meaning Bangladesh cannot now win the series, whatever happens in the third match.
The series is already historic for both countries. It is the first-ever bilateral women's ODI series between Australia and Bangladesh, and Bangladesh's first bilateral tour of Australia.
Sunday's match was the second of three in Bangladesh Women's tour of Australia.
All three matches of the series have been staged at Allan Border Field in Brisbane. Australia won the series opener there on Friday by seven wickets, bowling Bangladesh out for 166 in 49.4 overs before reaching 168 for 3 in 25.4 overs in reply.
Litchfield made 77 in that first match at Allan Border Field, while Bangladesh bowler Habiba Islam Pinky, making her ODI debut, took 2 for 36.
Australia have been without their regular captain, Sophie Molineux, for the series because of a hip injury. Tahlia McGrath has captained the side in her absence throughout both matches of the series so far.
The series also carries ICC Women's Championship points. The third and final ODI of the three-match tour is scheduled for Allan Border Field in Brisbane, Queensland, on Wednesday, October 14.
