Cricket NSW and the Sydney Sixers have confirmed Rachael Haynes will step down as the club's general manager, with the change taking effect in late October ahead of Weber WBBL|12.

Haynes is leaving the role as she and her family relocate overseas, Cricket NSW said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Leading the Sydney Sixers has been one of the great privileges of my career," Haynes said.

"Stepping away wasn't an easy decision, but it's the right one for my family as we head into an exciting new chapter overseas," she said.

Hayden McIntosh, currently Cricket NSW's head of consumer and venue business, will take over as interim general manager for the WBBL and BBL seasons. He will lead the club's commercial, events and consumer-facing operations.

McIntosh will be supported on cricket operations and high-performance matters by Cricket NSW chief cricket performance officer Greg Mail. Both men have been heavily involved with the Sixers for several years, Cricket NSW said.

Cricket NSW chief executive Lee Germon praised Haynes' tenure at the club.

"Her leadership has helped shape the club into one of the most successful and respected in the competition, and her impact will be felt for years to come," Germon said.

Germon said McIntosh was well placed to step into the role on an interim basis.

"We're delighted to appoint Hayden to the interim GM role," he said.

McIntosh paid tribute to his predecessor as he turned his attention to the season ahead.

"Rachael has been an incredible leader for this club, and on a personal level, a wonderful colleague and mentor," McIntosh said.

"We're excited for the season ahead starting with our first home WBBL fixture at NSO against the Sydney Thunder," he said.

The interim leadership structure will run through the Weber WBBL and KFC BBL seasons, with Cricket NSW saying it is designed to keep continuity across cricket, commercial and operational functions. Recruitment for a permanent general manager will begin in early 2027.

The Sydney Sixers play their first home WBBL fixture of the season against the Sydney Thunder at North Sydney Oval on Sunday, November 8. Tickets for the WBBL and BBL seasons are available through the Sixers' website.
