Football Australia has named a 23-player Olyroos squad to face Korea Republic U23s in two international friendlies at polytec Stadium in Gosford, opening Australia's new Olympic qualification cycle.

The squad is overseen by Young Socceroos head coach Trevor Morgan, who also assists the Olyroos program. The matches will be played on Saturday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

The opening fixture on October 3 will be played in front of supporters and kicks off at 3pm AEST. The second match on October 6 starts at 1pm AEDT. Both games will be streamed on 10 Streaming.

The camp is the first step towards the AFC U-23 Asian Cup in Japan in 2028, which will decide Asia's representatives at the Los Angeles Olympics.

Players from eight A-League Men clubs were selected. Melbourne City have the largest representation with four players named: Liam Bonetig, Quinn MacNicol, Medin Memeti and Lawrence Wong.

Melbourne Victory have two players in the squad, Joshua Inserra and Franco Osuru.

Sydney FC provided the next largest contingent with five players selected: Akol Akon, Wataru Kamijo, James Overy, Tiago Quintal and Rhys Youlley.

Adelaide United have four representatives in Panagiotis Kikianis, Fabian Talladira, Amlani Tatu and Jonny Yull, while Western Sydney Wanderers have named a trio in Nathan Barrie, Miguel Di Pizio and Atiya Waraga.

Macarthur FC are represented by Dean Bosnjak, Oliver Randazzo and Alexander Robinson. The goalkeeping group also includes Jai Ajanovic of Central Coast Mariners and George Plusnin of Brisbane Roar.

Morgan was appointed by Football Australia to the Young Socceroos head coaching role, a position that also has him assisting the Olyroos program as the governing body builds depth across its age-group teams.

Pre-qualification matches for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup are scheduled for June 2027, the next step on Australia's road to the Los Angeles Games.
