Kylie Minogue, 58, headlined the Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment at the AFL Grand Final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday, September 26, before more than 100,000 fans watched the Fremantle Dockers face the Brisbane Lions.
"A homecoming like this, I should be so lucky," Minogue said, as the letters K and M flashed in the MCG's floodlights during her performance.
It was the first time a solo Australian act had headlined the AFL Grand Final pre-game show since singer-songwriter Paul Kelly did so in 2019. Millions more watched the show on television around the country.
Hours of rain had fallen over the MCG in the lead-up to Saturday's show. The skies cleared just in time for Minogue to take the stage, and her set ran for about 20 minutes.
Minogue opened with "Love at First Sight" before moving through "In Your Eyes," "Get Outta My Way," "On a Night Like This" and "All the Lovers." She then performed "Spinning Around," "Slow" and "Padam Padam," followed by "The Loco-Motion," before closing the set with "Can't Get You Out of My Head."
She was joined on stage during the set by several other performers. First Nations didgeridoo player and composer William Barton performed alongside her on "Confide in Me," while singer-songwriter G Flip joined her for "Padam Padam."
Melbourne DJ Dom Dolla also featured in the show, appearing as Minogue's "aircraft marshaller" for a remix of "Can't Get You Out of My Head" that closed the performance.
Minogue finished the set suspended high above the stadium, emerging from a giant bedazzled "KYLIE" football-shaped prop.
The show had opened earlier with a Melbourne schoolgirl walking onto the MCG turf, a nod to Minogue's own upbringing in the city.
