Sydney Kings guard Matthew Dellavedova has been ruled out of the club's two Hungry Jack's NBL27 Round 5 fixtures this week because of a calf injury, the team confirmed.

The reigning NBL champions play the New Zealand Breakers in the Ignite Cup on Wednesday night before hosting Perth at Afterpay Arena on Sunday.

Dellavedova, a four-time Olympian, is averaging 6 points, 5.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds this season. He will be re-evaluated next week, according to the Kings.

Lachlan Bofinger will take his place in coach Brian Goorjian's squad for both matches.

Sydney suffered its first loss of the Hungry Jack's NBL27 season last Sunday, ending the club's unbeaten start to its title defence. Bofinger now gets an opportunity to fill minutes in the rotation while Dellavedova recovers.

A further update on Dellavedova's injury is expected once he is reassessed next week, with his availability for the following round to be determined after that review.
