Cricket administrators and community leaders met over lunch at Mrs Tran's Kitchen in Mentone on Saturday, 26 September, to discuss ways to grow multicultural participation in Victorian cricket.
The gathering included Ken Jacobs OAM, the former chief executive of Cricket Victoria, and Andrew Kane, president of the McKinnon Cricket Club. The lunch was hosted by Howie Tran, chief executive of Mrs Tran's Kitchen and a member of the multicultural cricket committee.
Discussion centred on strengthening cricket pathways at club level, expanding participation among multicultural communities, and building opportunities for women's cricket, according to the committee.
The organisers said they were looking forward to working collaboratively to support grassroots cricket and create inclusive programs that reflect the diversity of the sporting community.
No further meetings were announced.
