The Sydney Sixers have re-signed England international Chris Jordan on a one-year deal for KFC BBL|16, the club announced in a statement on Friday, October 9.

Jordan, 37, returns to the Sixers after a stint with the club between 2021 and 2023, and will again be based at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Sixers general manager Rachael Haynes said Jordan's experience and leadership made him a valuable addition to the squad.

"Chris is one of the most respected T20 players in world cricket, and we're absolutely delighted to welcome him back to the Sixers," Haynes said.

"He brings proven international quality, tremendous experience and outstanding leadership," she said.

Haynes said Jordan remained popular with supporters from his earlier spell at the club.

"Our members and fans loved having him here previously, and we're excited to see him back in Magenta this summer," she said.

Jordan was born in Christ Church, Barbados, on October 4, 1988, and moved to England as a teenager. He has represented the national team since 2013.

He has played 138 times for England and taken 175 international wickets, including 108 in T20 internationals.

Jordan was part of the England squad that won the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, coached at the time by Matthew Mott, who is now head coach of the Sydney Sixers.

Across 65 BBL matches, Jordan has taken 59 wickets and scored 340 runs. He has previously played for the Adelaide Strikers, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes in the competition.

The fast bowler has also played in The Hundred, the Caribbean Premier League, the Pakistan Super League and the Indian Premier League.

Jordan said he was looking forward to returning to a club he had enjoyed success with before.

"I loved my previous time with the Sixers and I'm incredibly excited to be coming back," he said.

"The club has a proud history, a great fan base and a group that is always competing for championships," Jordan said.

"I'm looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new ones and hopefully helping bring plenty of success to the Sixers this season," he said.

Jordan joins a Sixers list for BBL|16 that includes Sean Abbott, Joel Davies, Ollie Davies, Ben Dwarshuis, Jack Edwards, Riley Kingsell, Hayden Kerr, Josh Philippe, Fergus O'Neill, Tim Seifert, Jake Scott, Lachy Shaw, Jordan Silk and Steve Smith.

Tickets for the Sixers' WBBL and BBL campaigns are available now through the club's website.
