Aryan Sharma headlines Victoria's Under-19 squads for Brisbane nationals

Cricket Victoria has named its Metro and Country squads for next December's national championships, with a trio of players fresh from Australia Under-19 duty in India included.

Cricket Victoria has named 14-player Victoria Metro and Victoria Country squads for the Cricket Australia Under-19 Male National Championships, to be held in Brisbane from December 14 to 21, 2026.

Rookie-contracted player Aryan Sharma headlines the Metro squad, returning to the national stage after representing Australia at the 2026 Under-19 World Cup.

Cricket Victoria male talent development manager Tom Evans said the championships gave young Victorian players a chance to measure themselves against the best in the country.

"The National Championships are a fantastic opportunity for our players to test themselves against quality opposition and showcase their skills on the national stage," Evans said.

"These experiences are an important part of their development, challenging players to perform in a competitive environment while gaining a greater understanding of the standards and expectations of professional cricket," he said.

"We're excited by the talent across both squads and look forward to seeing them embrace the opportunity to represent Victoria," Evans said.

Jack Czosnek and Jakey Pietz join Sharma in the Metro squad after recently representing Australia Under-19s in India. Patrick Sullivan, who was also part of that India tour, has been named in the Country squad.

Several players return from last year's championships, where Victoria Metro reached the final against South Australia at the WACA Ground.

Former Victorian opening batter Travis Dean will coach Victoria Metro, with Xavier Crone as assistant coach. James Miller will lead Victoria Country, supported by assistant coach Nick Speak.
